Day 01 -Arrival. Will be met at Colombo Airport and transferred to a deluxe/standard hotel. After a short rest proceed on a city tour of Colombo. See the Pettah Bazaar, the Fort area, a city park and also a residential area in Colombo. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 02 -Leave after breakfast to Sigiriya visiting the Elephant Orphanage in Pinnawela en route. After a short rest, explore the rock fortress of Kasyapa, which dates back to the 5th Century A.D. See the ruins of Kasyapa’s palace on the summit of the Sigiriya rock and the gallery of ancient frescoes. Dinner and overnight stay at a standard/deluxe/luxury hotel.

Day 03 -After breakfast proceed on an excursion to the medieval capital -Polonnaruwa, which dates back to the 2nd Century B.C. It rose to fame during the 10th and 12th centuries. Tour the ancient city, visiting the council hall, Shiva Devale, Watadage, rock inscriptions of Nissankamalla and the Gal Vihare amongst other interesting sites. Afternoon at leisure. Dinner and overnight stay at a standard/deluxe/luxury hotel.

Day 04 -After breakfast proceed to Kandy visiting the Dambulla caves (1st Century B.C.) en route. Next, a garden of spices will be visited to view and sample a wide array of spices. Continue to Kandy, visiting a house of batik painters en route. In the afternoon visit the city of Kandy, nestled snugly amidst hills. Kandy was the seat of the Kandyan kings from the 14th Century. The city is a repository of Sinhala culture, having traditions dating back to the origin of the Sinhala civilization. During the city tour, visit the Kandy bazaar, the arts & crafts centre, the lake, a gem house/lapidary, the Temple of the Tooth Relic and the Peradeni ya Botanical Gardens where nearly 4000 species of plants are found. The longest river in Sri Lanka, the Mahaweli, encircles the gardens. In the evening, enjoy a cultural show. Dinner and overnight stay at a standard/deluxe/luxury hotel.

Day 05 -After breakfast proceed to Nuwara Eliya, visit a tea estate and tea factory en route. This region is world famous for its production of high quality tea. In the afternoon explore the town of Nuwara Eliya, the Golf course, the former racecourse and also the Nuwara Eliya Lake. Dinner and overnight stay a standard/deluxe/luxury hotel.

Day 06 -After breakfast proceed to Yala/Katharagama via Ella, Wellawaya. Tour the Udawalawe sanctuary or Yala National Wild Life Sanctuary en route. These are famous for large herds of wild elephants and deer, crocodiles, wild buffaloes and peacocks, and a large variety of bird life can also be seen. On completion of the safari continue to the a standard/deluxe/luxury hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 07 -After breakfast leave for Galle via coastal route. On arrival in Galle do a city tour. Thereafter, transfer to Beach Resort of your choice.

Day 02 -After breakfast proceed to Sigiriya, visit the Elephant Orphanage in Pinnawala en route. Day 05 -After breakfast proceed on a city tour of Kandy, which is nestled snugly amidst hills. During the city tour visit the Kandy Bazaar, the arts and crafts centre, the lake, a gem house/lapidary, the Temple of the Tooth Relic and the Peradeniya Botanical gardens, which were originally the pleasure gardens of royalty. Nearly 4000 species of plants are found here and the longest river in Sri Lanka, the Mahaweli, encircles the gardens. Return to standard/deluxe/luxury boutique hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 06 -After breakfast proceed to Nuwara Eliya, visiting a tea estate and tea factory en route. This region is world famous for the production of high quality tea. In the afternoon explore the town of Nuwara Eliya , the Golf course, the former racecourse and also the Nuwara Eliya lake. Dinner and overnight stay at a standard/deluxe/boutique hotel.

Day 07 -After breakfast proceed to Hambantota via Ella, Wellawaya and tour the Yala/Udawalawe National Wildlife Sanctuary en route. This is famous for large herds of wild elephants and deer, crocodiles, wild buffaloes, peacocks, and a large variety of bird life. On completion of the safari continue to a standard/deluxe/luxury boutique hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 08 -After breakfast precede to Kalutara/Bentota, visiting Galle, the chief port during the Dutch regime en route. Dinner and overnight stay at a standard/deluxe/luxury boutique hotel.

Day 09 -At leisure at a standard/deluxe/luxury boutique hotel on half board basis. Day 10 -After breakfast departure transfer to the airport.

A six night/ seven day tour, visiting two wildlife sanctuaries – Yala Safari National Park and Udawalawe National Park, where you will have the opportunity to come face to face with elephants, leopards, bears, deer and peacocks just to name a few. Also Visit Tree Hut at Joolpothana, known for its lush bird life.

Day 01 -Arrival and transfer to Mount Lavinia Hotel. (Option: Proceed on a city tour of Colombo. See the Pettah Bazaar, the Fort area, a city park and a residential area in Colombo.) Dinner and overnight stay at Mt. Lavinia Hotel.

Day 02 -Leave after breakfast for Udawalawe National Park. Transfer from park entrance to the campsite by 4WD jeeps. Lunch at the campsite. In the afternoon do a safari of Udawalawe National Park by jeep. This park is world famous for its elephants, spotted deer, sambhur, barking deer and langur, water buffalo and jackal. Serpent eagles, hawk eagles, white bellied sea eagles, black capped bulbuls, Malabar pied horn bills, white necked storks, open bills, white ibis, stork-billed kingfishers and peacocks are also found in fair numbers. Return to the campsite, which will be lit by lanterns and campfire. Dinner and overnight stay at campsite.

Day 03 -Do an early jeep safari. Return to campsite for breakfast. Transfer from Udawalawe to Yala via Tissamaharama. Visit the Tissamaharama Temple. In the evening start Jeep safari at Yala National Park. This large variety of habitats supports a large number of mammals such as spotted, barking and mouse deer, sambhur, wild boar, water buffalo and endangered sloth bear. This is one of the best places in the country to see majestic elephants along with rare tuskers and leopards. Large water holes and lagoons support the high density of endangered crocodiles. You can also see large flocks of migratory and resident birds. 142 species of birds have been recorded in the park so far. Overnight stay at Yala Village.

Day 04 -Start an early Jeep safari of the Yala National Park. Take a picnic breakfast to have inside the park. The first part of the safari will focus more on leopards. Though Yala has one of the world’s highest densities of leopards there is much more to see there. The latter part of the safari will open your eyes towards the other fauna and flora of the park. Return to hotel in the afternoon. In the evening leave for second safari of the day at Yala National Park. Overnight stay at Yala Village.

Day 05 -After breakfast start an early Jeep safari of the Yala National Park. Afternoon is at leisure. In the late afternoon visit Tree Hut at Joolpothana. This tree hut is located close to a small dry zone reservoir where you can see a lot of bird life. You will also be able to see the slash & burn cultivation system Practiced by the local villagers. After witnessing a beautiful sunset from Tree Hut, start your way back to the hotel. On your way back there will be a small Night Safari outside the park. This safari will focus on small mammals such as black-nape hare, civet, fishing cats and porcupine. Overnight stay at Yala Village.

Day 06 -After breakfast proceed to Galle. Do a city tour of Galle, which was once the chief port of Ceylon (as Sri Lanka was named by the British), and which is a world heritage site now. Transfer from Galle to Bentota. Overnight stay at Club Villa.

Day 07 -After breakfast transfer from Bentota to Airport or to your beach hotel as per your request.

 

Important Notes :

  • You are strongly advise e to obey the instructions given by the interpreter and the wild Life officers while you are seeing the animals.
  • The facilities at the campsite are basic and will include accommodation in camping tents, camping beds, sheets, pillows, torches, towels, soap and camping toilet facilities. Bottle water and other beverages will be provided as per request for extra cost
  • It will be convenient to use light cloths with soft-shoes.
  • It is recommended to use dull colure cloths when you are going to see the wildlife.
  • It is recommended to have sunglasses, sunburn lotion, insect repellent and personal effects for warm / windy / rainy conditions.
  • The visits to wild life parks will be at clients' own risk. The jeeps available are basic (though specially designed for wildlife safaris) with basic insurance cover.

Yala National Park will be closed for the public during the months of September/October - exact dates will be advised at the time of booking.
